Say, 'I Do' to You: Vows to a Perfectionist | 002
Perfectionism can make your relationship with yourself feel conditional. You may speak kindly to yourself when you are succeeding, meeting expectations, or keeping everything together —but the moment you make a mistake, self-criticism takes over. Instead of offering yourself patience and grace, you withdraw the very kindness you would readily give to someone else.
But that is not how God loves you.
In this episode, we look at the sacred nature of vows and what they reveal about God’s unwavering commitment to you. He does not love only the polished, productive, put-together version of you. He remains faithful through the ordinary, imperfect, and messy moments of your life. His love gives you permission to release impossible standards and begin seeing yourself through His eyes.
You will also be invited to spend quiet time with God and consider writing personal vows — both to Him and to yourself. These vows are not another set of rules to perform perfectly. They are grace-filled declarations that can help you receive God’s love, forgive yourself more quickly, and begin replacing self-condemnation with truth.
