Perfect Body, Broken Inside: How Jesus Freed Lydia Jacon from Perfectionism, Binge Eating, and Shame | 014
On the outside, Lydia Jacon had what many women spend years chasing: a lean, award-winning body, incredible discipline, and a place on the competition stage. But behind closed doors, the same pursuit had become a painful cycle of restriction, binge eating, purging, fear, and shame. What looked like victory was quietly keeping her from truly living.
In this episode, Lydia and I go beneath the outward behaviors to the beliefs and fears driving them — the belief that our value is determined by how we look, the fear that releasing control will lead to disaster, and the all-or-nothing thinking that keeps so many women trapped between striving and shame. Lydia shares how practical support from a dietitian helped her begin releasing some of that rigidity, but her deepest transformation began when she invited Jesus into the place she had been unable to fix on her own.
Lydia’s story is not a promise of instant or perfect healing. It is a testimony of surrender, renewed motives, quieter thoughts, sustainable habits, and learning to trust Jesus one day at a time. If your relationship with food, exercise, or your body has felt like a constant battle, this conversation offers hope that small beginnings matter — and that your past does not have to keep defining your future.
